5 Design Choices We Made at #TruModernFarm that made all the difference

Our project #TruModernFarm remains one of our favourite custom home projects to date. From the ground up, we worked diligently with our clients to bring their vision to life. Here are some of our favourite design choices we found that made all the difference. 

The custom coloured cabinetry

One of our favourite design choices was the custom colour of the cabinetry we chose for this gorgeous kitchen. Beyond the overall aesthetic and functionality of a kitchen space, the colour of cabinets contributes significantly to the ambiance and style of the room. The choice of cabinet colour can influence the perceived size of the space, evoke specific moods, and complement other design elements such as countertops and backsplashes. This gorgeous green also offered the homeowners a unique and tailored look that reflects their individual taste. 

The hidden pantry 

This hidden pantry is truly a game-changer. Beyond its functional purpose of providing ample storage space for groceries and kitchen essentials, it also contributes to a clean and uncluttered kitchen aesthetic, enhancing the overall visual appeal. This discreet storage solution not only maximizes space but also elevates the kitchen's overall design, creating an environment where form meets function effortlessly. 

The open staircase

We are obsessed with this open staircase. One of the primary advantages of having an open staircase in the home is for the enhancement of visual spaciousness. By allowing an unobstructed line of sight through the stairs, an open design imparts a sense of airiness and expansiveness, making the entire space feel larger and more interconnected. This design choice also promotes natural light flow, enabling sunlight to permeate throughout the home and brighten previously dim areas. It also serves as architectural focal points, adding a touch of modernity and sophistication to the space.

The custom cedar garage door

This gorgeous custom-designed cedar garage door brings a touch of elegance and natural beauty to the home's exterior. Cedar wood, known for its durability and distinctive grain patterns, not only offers exceptional strength but also exudes a timeless aesthetic. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, cedar is naturally resistant to decay and insects, ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance. The overall symmetry of the home creates an impactful visual effect. The balance between the windows, door, and architectural features that reflect each other on either side of a central point. Beyond aesthetics, symmetry played a crucial role in functionality. A well-balanced design ensures that spaces are logically and efficiently laid out, making the home easier to navigate. In this project, the symmetrical floor plans often lead to more organized and accessible living areas, enhancing the flow from one room to another.
